FAQ Sections

What is wav.arena?

wav.arena is a unique music battle platform where creators compete head-to-head with their tracks. Unlike traditional music platforms, we focus on providing real, constructive feedback through our comprehensive rating system and anonymous voting process.

How is wav.arena different from other music platforms?

We differentiate ourselves through our educational approach to music feedback, anonymous voting system that prevents bias, and comprehensive rating categories that help creators understand their strengths and areas for improvement. We're not just about popularity - we're about growth and learning.

Is wav.arena free to use?

Yes! wav.arena is completely free to use. We believe that quality music feedback and creator development should be accessible to everyone.

How does the voting system work?

Our voting system is designed to be fair and unbiased. When you vote on a battle, you must rate BOTH tracks across 6 categories (Mix & Master, Sound Selection, Songability, Originality, Arrangement, and Energy) on a 1-5 scale, plus select your winner. This ensures thoughtful, comprehensive feedback rather than quick popularity votes.

Why is the voting anonymous?

Anonymous voting prevents bias based on creator reputation, follower count, or personal relationships. This ensures that tracks are judged purely on their musical merit, creating a level playing field for all creators regardless of their status in the community.

What happens to track A and track B during voting?

To further eliminate bias, we randomly swap the positions of Track A and Track B for different listeners and voters. This prevents position bias (where the first track might get more votes) and ensures each track gets equal consideration.

When do I find out who voted for what?

Vote details and voter identities are revealed at the end of each battle. This transparency helps build trust in the system while maintaining the integrity of the voting process.

Why do I have to rate both tracks in all categories?

Requiring complete ratings ensures that voters provide thoughtful, comparative feedback. This educational approach helps creators understand exactly how their work compares across different musical aspects, rather than just receiving a simple win/loss result.

How does wav.arena provide an educational experience?

Our comprehensive rating system across 6 musical categories gives creators detailed insights into their strengths and weaknesses. By requiring voters to rate both tracks comparatively, creators receive actionable feedback that helps them grow and improve their craft.

What makes your feedback system different from competitors?

Unlike platforms that focus solely on popularity or simple voting, we emphasize quality feedback through structured rating categories. Our system encourages voters to think critically about different musical aspects, resulting in more valuable insights for creators.

How do you ensure fair competition?

Our combination of anonymous voting, random position swapping, and comprehensive rating requirements creates a truly level playing field. Every creator gets equal consideration regardless of their background, connections, or social media following.

What are the benefits of the detailed rating system?

The detailed rating system helps creators understand not just whether they won or lost, but why. They can see their performance across different musical dimensions, identify specific areas for improvement, and track their progress over time.
